Fall Crash Course
We’ve been busy here at Amelia’s traveling to market trying to find the most fabulous pieces for you to add to your wardrobe this fall 2011 season! We have searched up and down for some of the trendiest pieces, but of course we have found some staples any fashionista must add to her closet.
Color, Color, Color-
Some key colors you’re guaranteed to see this fall are jewel tones. The most beloved ones are ruby, emerald, and mustard. Pop the color by layering it under a great knitted oversized sweater or make a stand out statement by wearing a lux jewel toned dress, of course all available at your local Amelia’s. If jewel tones aren’t your fancy this fall then remember rich, earth tone hues to bring a fresh spectrum of color into your closet. *Styling tip from Nikole- When doing earth tones this season, make sure to use rich hues or else you could look washed out. With these rich tones think layering, layering, layering! The warmness in the burnt oranges, camels, browns, and burgundy’s play well together and create a warm glow that will look oh so ravishing all fall!

Bold red is having a moment for itself as well; in pants, blazers, shoes, dresses, and knits. Pick a shade that most flatters your skin tone and work it. Coming soon to Amelia’s is a linen pant in an orange-red tone that will look so chic paired with a crisp and clean cream shirt, brown colored cardigan or relaxed blazer, add some hints of gold throughout your jewelry and shoes.
Navajo Native
Still going strong for fall is the Navajo print! Now brought to you in shoes, cardigans, purses, and tops you’re sure to find a style in this earthy print you’ll love. Pair a great chiffon, Navajo printed top with a blazer, some dark denim, and some chunky heels for a great look to work. Switch out the shoes to some gorgeous brown leather boots and add some fun chunky jewelry and you just put together a weekend ensemble for yourself so easily! *Styling tip from Nikole- Buy this on trend print in any style you love, but just remember when putting the outfit together to only use the print once. Don’t overload a Navajo printed shirt with Navajo printed shoes. Take one piece and make it a statement!
Speaking of blazers, fall 2011 is taking your staple blazer and now making it more of a relaxed fit. Add this to your closet for a simple and easy update to any pair of jeans and t-shirt with some gorgeous riding boots.
Furry-Licious
At Amelia’s we absolutely love a soft, warm, stand out piece of fur (faux fur of course). “Our favorite type” you might ask? A lux faux fur vest! To us you can’t get much better than that. It instantly adds glamour and style to any outfit you pair it with. Picture this; a long jewel toned maxi dress (you can reuse from your summer wardrobe), a lavish faux fur vest, some big chunky heels in a brown tone, and to top the look all off add some layered up necklaces and your favorite set of bangles! You’ll be ready for any night out by simply putting on that faux fur vest. This is a great staple piece to have because fur is always in style in some way during the fall and winter seasons, so it’s okay to spend a little more on this statement piece because trust me you’ll get your money’s worth.
Lady Like and Lovin’ it
You may be noticing a theme throughout all these trends; dressed up! That’s right ladies the fancy, feminine look is back for fall 2011 and its back in a big way. Every trend is being styled back to high waist lines, big flare pants, a cute dress, or a nice chunky heel. Everything is really taking on a 70’s look, and Amelia’s is fully embracing this. A trend in the lady like category we are in love with is the tie-neck blouse! So chic and so sophisticated, you can dress this trend up for work with a tailored pant or bring it into the night with a sparkly mini. When putting together outfits that go with this trend just remember it’s not the big slouchy look anymore, its polished and refined.
*Styling Tips from Nikole- Take a dress you absolutely adore and try styling it with a bit of a girlish twist; put knee high socks under your boots. You can find knee high’s for as little as $9.95 at Amelia’s. You can use a pattern, like a cheetah print, or you can stick with a cute little ruffle at the top. Either way it’s a great and inexpensive way to update all your fall dresses.
